One of the leading softwares used to monitor vital signs and predict condition changes being introduced to pediatric wards and intensive care units was developed by McLaren. According to my professor, a normal vitals software takes an ECG reading, for example, once per hour, while McLaren's system does so 125 times. Per minute. The system can also "learn" what is normal for every individual child hooked up to it and use it as a baseline with which to compare minute changes that normal systems, once again, can't detect. That's amazing, why isn't this stuff in the news? People go apeshit every time a caked up celebrity throws money at a cause, while most racing teams get is "We don't need faster cars! Won't anybody think of the children!?"
